What a great pet bird to have. I was always afraid of these guys because of there beaks. I have paulie, and he is brilliant. I never regret owning one. They are a character in themselves. The Alexandrines are known for there vocabulary and the way they present themselves in speech. They are almost human. They pick things up quickly and easily in there speech as well, so you have to be careful to what they say.
Some say alexandrines are more of a one person bird. This can be true in most cases. If the bird is handraised by a good breeder then you shouldnt have a problem. Paulie gets on with all members of our family and he loves being part of the group.
They are easy to feed. I feed paulie on large parrot mix, plenty of water, vegetables such as, corn, celery, carrots. As a treat he loves beernuts, (unsalted variety) arrowroot biscuits, and specially almonds.

Thanks for the info Judy, I have heard so many good things about Alexandrines. I have heard that they can be great talkers. The only time I've seen one in real life was at the nearby petshop once. He/she was gorgeous, my boyfriend almost bought him, lol. He's taken to the Alexandrines I think.
