Okay, I must ask... if space and budget wasn't an issue, what would your dream aviary or cage look like? Be as vague or as detailed as you want. Keep in mind you still have to clean it, hehe.

OK it would be 4 ac's big Up over the top of large gum trees.. The floor would be dirt, reason far to much cleaning it. I would just have concreted about 60 deep and about 30 cm wide.. This would stop the mice and rats from getting in. I would like a running stream that went into a large pond.. There I would have fish and turtles to help with the cleaning and balance of it all.

mine would be a massive bank of aviaries each flight can be about 20 metres long 5 metres high and 10 metres wide with the natural landscape of the birds being housed in there with a massive walkway that has running water and lets make it 20 banks? hmmm if i had that, i would move out ofhome and live in it

They sound great! ;D
Mine would be not so big... but would be several metres or more long and a few or more metres wide, in an L shape or at least curve at some point. I aim for the design to be aesthetically appealing in both structure design and interior design. And also to be efficient when it comes to cleaning and feeding.
Design wise, the aviary will be divided into different sections (note the actual aviary is not divided, it's still one thing). These sections will each be themed with a habitat. The main three, and probably the largest, may be semi-arid region, eucalypt woodlands, and rainforest. There will be a couple of others, but they have not been decided on yet (such as marshland, grassland, scrubland, urban, other country's habitat). One will need to contain reeds to suit certain species of finch. The rainforest one needs a little waterfall, hehe. A path will go down the middle for the length of the aviary. I guess if the birds completely destroy the plants, they will be replaced.
The roof will be either triange or arched, and still figuring out if it would alternate between being solid and transparent, for both giving the birds shelter and letting sun through for the plants. Double doors on each end of the aviary.
There will be a couple of large sheltered areas for birds to retreat to during the night or bad weather. Feeders will be automatic (thinking Bird-Zerk feeders), still figuring out how watering would go. Will also need a way to stop rodents and wild birds getting in. If budget wasn't an issue, would love to use stainless steel mesh, such as ZooMesh.
It would be a mixed aviary for small species, but careful not to go on a buying frenzy and fill it with birds just because I can. Instead, I would like to focus on species and mutations I would actually like to have, and also a place for some rescued birds to live if that ever came up. It will also be a non-breeding aviary, just keeping.

Wow sounds awesome Clara ! Thanks. The reason I'm putting a lot of thought into it is because I am seriously planning to try and make it a reality... EDIT: Oh yeh, I forgot to add... not sure if this would be possible or not, but it would be cool if the rainforest section of the aviary was connected to the house (so the house wall was one wall of the aviary) and next to a window (which would have to have something done to stop birds smacking into it) so I could see the birds up close even when inside, whee!

Everything is possible, but unfortunatly, it all boils down to the mighty dollar $$$$
